DIY: EASTER FORTUNE TELLER EGGS

Remember painting Easter eggs as a kid? Yeah, us too.

Thankfully, you're about to discover a way to decorate Easter eggs, while still successfully adulting.

Hello, marbled fortune teller eggs. It's the perfect thing to bring to an Easter brunch and spread the good vibes.

Check it out below.

YOU NEED
6-12 blown out eggs (see how here)
1 Push Pin
10 Wooden Skewers
Nail Polish
Water
1 Plastic Container / Bowl
Paper
Pen
Scissors

COLORING THE EGGS

STEP 1
Blow out your eggs (detailed instructions here):

- Make a pin hole in the top of the egg
- Make a second, bigger, pin hole in the bottom of the egg
- Carefully use a skewer to widen the bottom hole until it's the same size as the skewer
- Poke the yolk inside to break it
- Lean over a sink and blow into the smaller pin hole
- All the stuff inside the egg will squirt out the bottom hole (ewww. *shudders*)
- Rinse

Let the shells dry for a few hours.

STEP 2
Fill your container with enough water to submerge 1 egg at a time.

Drip a little bit of nail polish into the water. Layer the colors you want.

We suggest 2-3 colors per mixture.

NOTE: We started with a glass jar, but it wasn't big enough, so we switched to a bowl. The bigger surface area of the bowl allowed the nail polish to disperse, making a way cooler Easter egg.

STEP 4
Swirl it around with a skewer to make a pattern.

STEP 5
Dip the egg straight down into the nail polish water using a skewer or your fingers.

We had the best results using our fingers, dipping one side of the egg at a time.

Don't swirl the egg around or it will get clumpy!

STEP 6
Set it to dry. Repeat for all your eggs!

ADDING THE FORTUNES

STEP 1
Write cute fortunes on thin strips of paper (think, like, fortune cookies).

STEP 2
Roll each fortune super tightly and add 1 per egg. Slide the paper into the egg through the larger hole you created earlier.

DONE!

Serve them up to your friends. Crack the eggs open to get your fortunes!
