5 TIPS TO HELP YOU BECOME A MORNING PERSON

We set our clocks back last Sunday (aka an extra snooze hour...hurray!) which means that mornings are now brighter... but evenings are so. freakin. dark. omg. Even at 5pm! Like, seriously, sun dude?

THERE'S ONLY ONE THING WE CAN DO.... time to start waking up earlier and enjoying the sunlight!
That's easier said than done, though, we totes know. Getting up early is like the bane of our existence, but at the same time such a sweet treat to offer yourself. All is so quiet, crisp and serene. It's bound to start your day off right, especially when there's a hot cup of coffee involved. And trust us, coffee is heavily mentioned in this post ;)

Here's what you can do to make your mornings smoother than a latte:

1. Prepare everything the night before.
The less decisions you have to make in the morning, the less stressful it will be, aka more relaxing with your hot coffee! Pack your lunch, lay out your outfit, and set up your breakfast table. 

2. Start your day with a positive thought.
"Omg I can't believe it's morning already" will have to go. Try thinking about something fun that's gonna happen that day. It doesn't have to be something major; making your daily cup of coffee is exciting (can you tell how much we love caffeine here?).

3. Invest in a smart light or leave your curtains open. 
Smart lights are bulbs you can control with your phone. Neat-o! Now you don't have to get out of bed in order to get out of bed. We <3 technology. And waking up with light makes you less grumpy and more alert! AKA less Garfield, more Spongebob.

4. Go to bed as soon as you're tired and wake up at the exact same time every morning.
Your body doesn't always need exactly 8 hours to function; when you have a busier day, you ultimately need more time to recover. After a week of doing this, falling asleep will be much easier.

5. NO SNOOZING ALLOWED! 
Put your alarm across the room if you have to - snoozing only leads to a stressed out and tardy morning. You snooze, you lose!
